Joe Johnson, a talented local photographer, was the youngest recipient of a Larkin25 commission to create a new artistic project inspired by the programme. He travelled the length of the Larkin Trail to create a photographic montage responding to the locations, and to Larkin’s life and work.

 Joe brought some books, a pair of Larkinesque glasses, and even a bicycle, along with him and if you look closely you can see these echoes of Larkin in some of these atmospheric and witty images.
